This past weekend my mom flew down to Austin for our annual girls trip with my best friend from college and her mom. Since I’ll be out of town this upcoming weekend, and we had a few days to ourselves, my mom and I decided to celebrate Mother’s Day early.
My mom has only been down to Austin twice and it’s usually with my younger brothers. In the past, she’s come down around Christmas so I was excited she was able to make the trip herself this past weekend and enjoy some of the awesome Austin weather. I wanted to treat her to a nice dinner and take her somewhere we could sit outside and enjoy the weather so we decided to go to Mattie’s. My mom loovveesss old farmhouses and wrap-around porches, so I knew she’d be obsessed with this spot.
A few weeks ago, when my mom booked her flight to come down, I was trying to decide what to get her for Mother’s Day. She isn’t a huge jewelry person but she was always commenting on my watch and how she wished she had one. I have a two-tone, silver and gold watch which I know isn’t her style. My mom doesn’t really love gold and is also super particular when it comes to silver as well…picky lol I was searching online when I found the company Jord Watches and they seriously fit my moms look PERFECTLY! Everything about this watch fits her style; the dark wood color, the emerald green face and the fact that she can wear it with all different types and colors of jewelry.
I was so excited for her to open the watch because I knew I had finally found something she would actually want to wear and not just wear it because I got it for her as a gift, like most moms do.
I could tell she loved it right away, she was having me put it on her wrist before we even got it out of the packaging. The watch looks amazing on her and I have to admit, I was a little jealous I didn’t get one for myself after seeing it on her lol
Mother’s Day isn’t all about gift giving, I was honestly just so excited to spend some quality time with my mom since we only see each other about two to three times a year, but it felt so great to give my mom something she actually loved and appreciated. I know she’ll think about me and our weekend together every time she looks at her watch.
Happy Mother’s Day to the #queen that holds our family together and always puts us before herself. We love you!
